So what is social selling?
According to wikipedia, Social selling is the process of developing relationships as part of the sales process. Today this often takes place via social networks such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest, but can take place either online or offline. Social Selling is gaining popularity in a variety of industries, direct sales companies have been using social selling techniques (i.e. relationship building) since far before the Internet existed!
There has never been a better time to be a social seller. Social media platforms make an amazing resource for social sellers. You have the ability to reach people from all over the world and build relationships.
We are all influenced by consumer reviews more than anything else.
We live in an era where people share their experience with us everyday. What do you do when you find a pair of jeans that fit so good and you absolutely love? You tell your mom, your friend and anyone who compliments you, right?! You let the world know that you finally found the best fitting jeans!
We are all influencing purchase decisions daily without realizing it.
Influencers are all the rage right now and most big companies now look to them to market their products in return, paying the influencer a percentage of the sales they make.
Why? Because people buy stuff from those:
they know
love
and trust
Influencers have created a community of relationships and trust.
So in turn, their followers will buy what that influencer promotes. This is Social Selling!!
But social selling isn’t just for well known influencers! You can be an influencer & social seller!
You can be a social seller from your own home. Find a product that you are passionate about and that aligns with your interests and a way to get paid for sharing it. A great way to do this is join a direct sales company. There are some pretty dang awesome direct sales companies out there that cover just about every interest you can think of. But, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, not all direct sales companies are created equal!! I have loved my company SeneGence. I have been with them nearly 5 years and have loved every minute! I love all things beauty, especially when products do what they say they will! So it made sense for me to get paid for sharing skincare and cosmetics!
Bottom line, social selling is great way to create an income while working from home and doing it on your own terms.
